Christopher J. McGuire

Chris McGuire has three decades of experience in complex commercial litigation, with a focus on representing carriers in insurance coverage actions. Chris successfully coordinated the positions of 14 carriers to submit a successful joint brief before the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine, and he helped achieve a favorable landmark ruling from the Delaware Supreme Court regarding the treatment of tobacco claims under CGL policies. His coverage practice spans a wide range of subjects, including professional liability, product liability, sexual abuse, and violations of constitutional rights. In addition, he has advised carriers on regulatory changes and crafted numerous coverage opinions, disclaimers, and reservation of rights letters.

Outside his insurance practice, Chris has counseled and litigated for seven members of the Fortune 500 across various industries. Notably, for one such company, he served as national coordinating counsel for more than 500 related product liability cases in over 20 states. He has extensive appellate experience in both state and federal courts, including four briefs before the United States Supreme Court. He has also authored articles in prominent publications such as the National Law Journal and the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology.
